Questions and answers

The most common questions about Martina's Annual subscription

What is the difference between Martina's Annual subscription and a children's medical health care insurance?

Martina’s subscription:

  • Gives access to all the medical services that the hospital offers at the minor emergency ward as well as the paediatric departments
  • Includes medical care services that cover the most common complaints children usually suffer, both in need of emergency and examination
  • You have direct contact with Martina in all cases
  • No health declaration is needed and no exceptions are made for known chronic diseases

Children's medical health care insurance:

  • Includes more services than what Martina’s Annual subscription provides - an insurance policy covers for example regular surgeries, all the laboratory tests and hospital care
  • Does not normally include the medical care services at Martina's minor emergency ward (the insurance company offers that)
  • You always need to go through the insurance company, for example before you can book an appointment.
  • Health declaration is generally needed and exceptions are made for known chronic diseases

Is Martina's Annual subscription a medical health care insurance?

What happens if I do not want to pay for radiology?
Then we can provide a referral to the Council, which includes the first doctor’s assessment why the X-ray should be done. You can come back to Martina with the X-ray images for further processing. The same procedure also applies for example to laboratory tests not included in the Annual subscription.

Can it be full – do you have a limit on how many subscriptions you sign?
Short waiting times and sufficiently long visiting times is a promise to our customers. Therefore, there is a limit to the number of subscriptions. The limit depends partly on how many children are included in a subscription and how many visits a child makes on average per year. 2009 was a year of development for Martina Children’s Hospital. If we continue at the same growth rate, patient visits will more than double in 2010, which means that we would reach the maximum capacity.
